At the London Personal Training Company we offer a service that looks at your current state of health and fitness.  We come to your work place, business, or home and within 45 minutes - 1 hour can check your health status using our state of the art testing equipment.  At the end of your session we will send you a paper copy as well as a PDF file of your health analysis report.  Such an indepth evaluation of your health and fitness levels is very difficult to come by, not even at your local surgery or medical centre, as very few will have the resources to carry out all aspects of the test that we offer, which makes it excellent value for money.

What is included in the test?

Blood Pressure:

Blood pressure can vary throughout the day and be affected by physical activity, stress, smoking and caffeine intake.  High blood pressure is a major risk factor for diseases such as Coronary Heart Disease, Stroke, Heart Failure, Peripheral Vascular Disease and Kidney Failure.  We use a mercury moniitor as it gives the most accurate reading.

Heart Rate:

Your resting heart rate indicates your basic fitness level.

Body Fat Test:

An excess of body fat can increase the risk of Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Joint Problems and other medical conditions.  The Body Fat Test determines exactly what percentage of fat your body contains.

Visceral Fat:

Also known as organ fat, it is located inside the peritoneal cavity, packed in between internal organs and the torso.

Resting Metabolic Rate:

This is the amount of calories required to run your body effectively over 24 hours.

Muscle Percentage:

This allows you to know how much of your body is made up of muscle tissue.

Waist/Hips Ratio:

The waist to hip ratio measurement gives a good indication of the distribution of body fat. Greater deposits of fat around the abdominal area can indicate a higher risk of Coronary Heart Disease and Diabetes Mellitus and problems with the Reproductive System in females.

The Body Mass Index (BMI) rating is an indicator of total body composition.  It is calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in meters squared (m2).

This is a fat that is carried around the body within the blood.  Having a high cholesterol reading can lead to Heart Disease and Strokes.

The blood sugar concentration or blood glucose level is the amount of glucose (sugar) present in the blood.  A high level can lead to diabetes.

Oxi Monitor Test (Oxygen within the blood per heart beat):

This checks oxygen output within the blood transport system, per heartbeat.

Back Balance Test:

This test will determine whether you carry more weight on one side of your body than the other.  If so you may increase the chances of developing scoliosis, a disorder of the spine.  It can also lead to regular aches and pains in certain areas of the body, primarily the back, neck, hips and knees and can also affect your posture.

Lung Capacity:

This is a simple test to see how well your lungs are functioning per exhalation of breath.

Flexibility Test:

A limited range of flexibility can hamper everyday life.  This test will determine how proficient your range of motion (ROM) is.
